How to Use the Moleskine Hipster PDA Case
After the initial amazement of the Moleskine Hipster PDA Case wears off, you may begin to wonder how it actually aids in productivity. Well, here is how I use my Moleskine Hipster PDA Case to assist in my work flow:
The Front (Clipboard)
I use the outside of the case as an improvised clipboard. The elastic band is useful for holding any cards that you may want to look at and/or use and the birch wood core provides an excellent writing surface.
First Spread (Daily Tasks + Time Tracker)
The first spread holds cards for my major tasks of the day (left) and my time tracker (right), which allows me to make a plan my time and record what I actually did. This spread allows me to view the important things in my day at a single glance.
Second Spread (Support Materials + On Deck)
The second spread has a folder on the left and a place holder for procedures on deck. The folder holds my support materials (such as cards for notes, for recording new tasks, receipts, etc), which I may need throughout the day. The on deck place holder holds a procedural card that I am currently focusing on.
A procedural card is project (in the GTD sense of the word) with a series of actions. These may be routines (such as a morning and evening routine) or they may be one time projects.
Once finish the actions for the project on deck, I then transfer the card to the outbox and draw a new card from the inbox to place on deck. This ensures that I am only focusing on one project at a time.
Third Spread (Inbox + Outbox)
The final spread contains a folder for my inbox and a folder for my outbox. The inbox contains all the procedural cards that I need to do throughout the day. In an effort to focus on one thing at a time, I can only see (and therefore can only focus on) one card at a time, which is the one on deck. The rest are hidden in the folder. All finished procedure cards are placed in the outbox, which is processed at the end of the day.

I love the idea of the Hipster and would like to try it out soon….
Would it be possible for you to put up some of the templates you have used here?
Thanks a lot!
Thanks. I’ve got a few things in the works, but I’ll probably post the old templates tomorrow.
