A Little Motivation
I have this hanging on my wall. It reminds me to keep on pushing until I can go no further. Pain tries to keep you the same, but you can be better.
My Inspiration
This little quote is inspired by two sources:
- Will Smith – Running & Reading: More influenced by the running aspect, than the reading part. Don’t listen to that little voice in your head because it tries to keep you from changing.
- Biology: Your body has mechanisms built into it that tries to keep you safe. Unfortunately, it does so by trying to keep you the same. Although it is difficult to overcome, you can change. If you keep on pushing, even when your body tells you to stop, you will change.
Whenever I am tired or don’t feel like doing something, I look at this. It reminds me that I don’t feel like doing it because I am close to changing. Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of where you are going and this helps me to refocus.

This post is simply inspiring!
I’d never thought about pain vs exhaustion like this before. This is especially true when trying to chang a habit, or a way of life. When changing from being a slob at my desk to being the highly efficent productive machine I am now (cough cough) I’ve had to go through some pain.
Actually, I’m not yet that totally productive machine so I’m sure there’ll be more pain ahead. But it’s a different sort of pain to that which I was going through before (the pain of stress – not knowing what I was missing etc) – This is a pain that you can feel producing growth in character.
I seem to recall someone saying that God isn’t interested in our comfort – He’s interested in our character!
nice quote. reminds me of:
“Slaying the dragon of delay is no sport for the short-winded.” Sandra Day O’Connor
Cool quote. I need to think about this one for a bit longer.
