A lot of post-modern thought has gone into symbolic reality. Advances in technology has allowed us to do many things simply for the sake of doing it. Overcoming challenges has moved from being a necessity to a luxury. When you do something, what’s the point?
I’ve been learning about a lot of physical stuff lately. I’ve been practicing parkour. I started doing yoga according to this chart. I’ve also been looking into bodyweight exercises by Christopher Sommers and Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee. Something I love about these disciplines is there is a higher reason for the things they do.

Since the beginning of time, there have been 3 key secrets to success. Richard Dawkins has uncovered these strategies, but do you have what it takes to execute them?
On the most basic levels, success isn’t about fame, money, or even being good at something. Success is the continued existence in the face of danger. In his book, The Selfish Gene, former Oxford professor Richard Dawkins describes three strategies that successful genes have “adopted” that allows them to continually exist.
If success is defined as continual existence in the face of danger (i.e. the ability to overcome struggle), the same strategies that contribute to the success of genes can allow us to overcome our own struggles and achieve success.

I just created a 3″x5″ index card template to take my notes on. Although the template is nothing fancy, it something special because it was created with purpose.

Structure Brings Focus
Before I created my notes template, I was using a blank note card to record my notes. Using a blank note card allowed for flexibility, but could easily descend into chaos. I felt unorganized. A template restricts options and gives purpose, allowing you to focus.

An important elements of accomplishing anything is maintaining focus. When you are focused, you will do. When you are distracted, you will not do. Distractions will come. Rather than trying to block them out, figure out a way to refocus when you become distracted.
Over the past few years, I have noticed a pattern in my life when it comes to accomplishing things. When I am focused, I am focused hardcore to the point where I literally ignore everything else. This focus helps me to do the things I am passionate about.
